Growing up in Blackpool, Jacob Mulgrew began experimenting with second-hand video equipment at the age of 11. By age 16, he was firm in his mission to become a storyteller and filmmaker.
Jacob attended the University of West London where he acquired his Bachelor's in Film Production. This provided the opportunity for him to explore digital filmmaking and studio television production whilst solidifying his passion for writing and directing narrative film. He graduated with honours and a first class degree. This led to Jacob being selected to participate in the National Youth Film Academy #SetReady course in 2018. Having completed his masters degree in Film & Television Directing, Jacob is now taking his PhD, researching the creative practice behind sports films at The University of York.
His professional credits include a CBS Reality docu-series; an innovative experimental virtual reality production; and his short-form directorial effort, The Funeral Directors - selected for the Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival 2017.
